SheeHandMakes
Handmade in Roxburgh, Central Otago
Welcome to SheeHandMakes!
Here, you’ll find out about me, the maker. You will see what I make and take to markets so check out the market days to see where I’ll be.
I make unique bags from Scottish tweed cloth that is handwoven in the Outer Hebrides. These are classic and special pieces. They take time to make and are made to last a long time.
I live in the beautiful Lake Roxburgh Village, just below the dam with himself and our two crazy dogs. Living the dream. Hope to see you soon.

Woven in the Outer Hebrides
Certified Harris Tweed®, handwoven in Scotland’s Outer Hebrides from 100% pure new wool. It shrugs off a bit of rain, and it looks better for the years you carry it.
New cloth, or rescued cloth
Most pieces start with new Harris Tweed®. Others start with cloth that was already around — a vintage coat cut down, a length of herringbone, quilter’s cotton and its odd little pockets. Whatever gets used didn’t have to be thrown out.
Made by hand, mended by hand
Where a piece has waxed canvas, it wears in rather than wears out, and there is only me to do the mending. Send a photo of a broken seam and I would rather restitch it than make you a new bag.
